SAGE University Bhopal Celebrates National Handloom Day with a Vibrant Fashion Show

Bhopal: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, the Department of Fashion Designing at SAGE University Bhopal organized a special educational and experiential activity for students.

 

The objective of the activity was to introduce students to India's rich handloom heritage, diverse sari styles, weaving techniques, and traditional textile legacy. Students from the Fashion Designing department showcased an attractive fashion show by wearing traditional saris representing different states and regions of India.

 

Through the fashion show, students creatively presented India's textile heritage, colours, weaving traditions, motifs, and regional identities. The event provided students with an opportunity to understand and appreciate India's diverse handloom traditions.

 

Special guest Shalini Gupta provided students with detailed information about various special and traditional sari styles. During the event, the Banarasi and Leheriya-style saris emerged as major attractions.

 

The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Design, Dr. Amrita Rajput, faculty members Dr. Vishakha Shrivastava, Shweta Anurag, and Suchitra Badoniya, Dean Dr. Swati K. Sharma, and Head of the Institution Dr. Professor Ritesh Ranjan.
