Bees are vital for our environment and agriculture. As diligent pollinators, they ensure food security and promote biodiversity. School of Agriculture in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Bhopal organized a Seminar on World Bee Day 2023 in which Hon'ble Mr. Narayan Rane, Central Cabinet Minister, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India and Mr. Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of India delivered their addresses through video-conferencing. The session highlights included the address by Mr. Om Prakash, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, about the event was briefly explained by Mr. Vineet Kumar, Deputy Director, KVIC, Bhopal and welcome address was delivered by Dr. Deepak Kher, Dean, SUB followed by a presentation on Bee Keeping. Plantation drive was also organised near SUB Temple. At the end of the event, prizes in the shape of Memento and certificates of winner of Drawing Competition were given to awarded participants followed by Honey samples distribution to the participants present during the event. More than 130 students actively participated in the event and got acquainted with the role and significance of honey bees in ensuring food security, maintaining balance in the ecosystem and sustainable agriculture.We join the celebration, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of bees to our environment and agriculture on 20th May, 2023 with the message 'Let's protect bees, preserve ecosystems, and nurture a sustainable future.'
