Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution which calls for a dynamic transformation of all aspects of business and production are done. The new wave of global technology is expected to change global production. Internationalization, in all aspects of business and industry, is the norm. Organizations can no longer remain confined within their borders but must become cross boundaries. Employees in this new era will need to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, and be able to interact across the globe. In short, they need to be liberally educated.In an endeavour to understand these nuances of Industry 4.0, SAGE University Bhopal was honoured to host Advisors Meet on 28th May 2022 at its beautiful campus located in Bhopal. Eminent personalities serving as Advisory Board members for various schools visited the campus to discuss on “Industry 4.0: Current Scenario, Opportunities, Potential Directions and Challenges for Higher Education Institutions.”
Distinguished guests who are a member of the Advisory Board of the university came from different parts of India to have an insightful and interactive discussion on the impact of Industry 4.0 on the entire ecosystem, the opportunities and challenges for Higher Education Institutes. The Meet was also attended by the top delegates from SAGE University Indore. Their inputs added value to the entire meet.
The day started by welcome address by Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr V K Jain who also set the contextual background of the meet followed by briefing of the flow of events by Convenor Ms Deepa Ayachit. The eminent Advisors, then spoke on industry 4.0 and its relevance to their discipline. This was followed by visit to the school, where they interacted with students on academics and curriculum. They spoke about interests, passion, goals and motivated them to participate in activities for overall development. They also emphasized on the domain specific skills required to excel in the field. The advisors then interacted with the Head of Schools, Head of Department and Faculty Members on various teaching learning processes namely teaching pedagogy, laboratory manuals, project based learning, experiential learning, best practices, research etc. The Advisors shared best practices followed in the domain and gave suggestions to improve academic delivery at university. Dr NanditeshNilay captivated the audience with his mesmerising talk on moral values, while Dr Pramod Joshi spoke about the adaptability which is the need of the hour and life readiness, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) (Dr.)Ajay Chaturvedi spoke on Industry 4.0 from the students perspective. Mr Manutosh Acharya highlighted on importance of Industry 4.0 from University perspective. All the speakers shared their experiences and highlighted the importance of practical learning, skill based education and moral values.
The most important part of the event was sharing of observations, feedback and suggestion by the advisors with Management and Institutional Heads chaired by Honourable Pro Chancellor Dr Prashant Jain with Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr V K Jain and Director General Dr Ashish Dutta. All the Advisors praised the beautiful campus and the infrastructure, praised the Academic team and the passion with which they work. They also gave suggestions for improvement. The suggestions and feedback have been noted for further implementation. Concluding Remarks were given by Vice Chancellor Dr V K Jain wherein he summarized the proceedings of the entire day and thanked all the Advisors for being a part of the Event.
The event concluded with cultural program orgnazied by School of Performing Arts followed by Dinner.
