M.A. Sociology is a postgraduate Sociology course spanning two years and includes a comprehensive and thorough study of Sociology as a discipline at an advanced level. It includes study of social relations, social stratification, social interaction, culture, etc and focus on an in-depth study of society and its mechanism. The major specializations taught are Religion and Society, Political Sociology, Economic Sociology, Sociology of India, Agrarian Sociology, Medical Sociology, etc.

This course helps a student understand the nuances of human society. It helps develop an understanding of how human society originated and its various evolutionary stages. An MA in Sociology prepares individuals with a better understanding of the frameworks of societies and communities around the world, thus making them adept at understanding how organizations work in the contemporary setting.
